Stupid question, but did you dial back the timing?

    1) Get the HO pump.
    2) Increase fuel pressures.
    3) Disconnect your PCV system to purify intake air.
    4) Reduce timing
    5) Higher Octane gas.
    6) DON'T FLOOR IT AT 3K RPM!

I'd get a J&S Safeguard and larger injectors. If you don't want to spend money on a trick fuel setup, try some RC 270s

But I'd start by retarding the timing just a bit more, and use higher octane gas.

More intrusive, try a V-AFC. I think that the low cams don't let enough fuel in, or the low cam MAPS don't have enough fuel going in. My safeguard only hears ping at or around 4,000 RPM.

How can I totally get rid of detonation? This nomally occurs at any gear(except 1st)below 3300 rpm at WOT, or at higher rpm if I'm going up hills at WOT. I'm willing to spend no more than a $1000.00. My current set up is:

98 GSR (21000 miles on engine)
JRSC 6psi (1000 miles on JRSC)
    JRSC fuelpump
    AEM CAI

Everything else that is related to the engine is bone stock. Thanx!

The stock timing is pretty agressive prior to VTEC. After the switchover to the hotter cams, the timing actually retards a bit. The midrange ping is at least in part the result of the greater timing advance and the higher cylinder pressures due to the shorter overlap of the milder cams and the blower ramming in more air.

I want to upgrade my injectors as well but I don't know what size is suitable, 270's or 310's? Has JRCivic released that fuel package upgrade yet?

Not quite yet Zip... I was tuning last Friday night and damaged some ignition parts... I am repairing it this weekend and I will return to tuning then. The solution, in the short time that I used it, was GREAT !!! No detonation present, and 16' advance timing !!!
